Bishop Levon Darthard Sr.
Presiding Bishop Dr. Levon Darthard Sr. was born and raised in Daytona Beach FL. He attended and obtained a High School Diploma from Spruce Creek High School. Bishop Darthard went on to attend Webber College in Lake Wales FL on a full basketball scholarship and obtained a degree in Business Management. His basketball coach would conduct Bible Study classes on campus, and he encouraged Bishop Darthard to attend. This would ultimately become his first real introduction to the Word of God. One day while leisurely playing a game of basketball, he was befriended by an AME Pastor by the name of Dr. Robert Shannon who became his father in the ministry.
In 1996, Bishop Darthard received the calling in which he answered and eventually became an Itinerant Elder in the African Methodist Episcopal denomination. He would serve in this capacity for twenty two years and while serving he enrolled in Grand Canyon University where he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Christian Education in 2016. Bishop Darthard then enrolled in Jacksonville Theological Seminary where he earned a Masters in Divinity degree in 2018. This was also the year that he received a new calling to embark on pastoring his own non-denominational ministry which he began in July 2018. Through conversations with his mother, Bishop Darthard made the decision to name the church Believing Faith Christian Worship Center with the motto, Loving God, Loving His Word and Loving His People!
In 2019, Bishop Darthard enrolled in Jacksonville Theological Seminary where he obtained his Doctorate in Ministry in 2021. He pursued further enhancement of his credentials in 2023 by enrolling in Kingdom Truth University where he obtained his PhD in Christian Counseling in 2025.
In 2010, Bishop Darthard reunited with his seventh-grade sweetheart whom he married in 2011, Overseer Leila Darthard. Together through their blended family, they have seven children, as well as ten grandchildren.
